YRTV School This school owes its origin to the foresightedness and generosity of Mr.Yennarkay R. Ravindran, an eminent industrialist of sivakasi and Mrs.Thilagavathy Ravindran. This enlightened and dedicated couple, desired a high standard of academic training with lofty ideals. The school was established in 1974 in congenial surroundings and has adequate equipments and aids. The School was affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi upto April 1991. From 1990 – 1991, the school comes under the Tamilnadu streams of Matriculation and Higher Secondary classes, for the betterment of our pupils and is recognized by Tamilnadu Education Department. Moral education froms as integral part of the school curriculum. Earnest efforts are made to give the children the best training possible in consonance with our ancient culture and in tune with the progressive trends in modern education. The management believes in the composition of classes that can be efficiently managed and individual attention effectively given.
English is the medium of instruction at all levels. Tamil and Hindi are offered as the First and third language respectively. The School is managed by the Rajarathinam Poothayammal Educational Trust, a registered body.
Yennarkay R. Ravindran Thilagavathy Vidhyasala Matriculation Higher Secondary School achieved a milestone, when the school won ISO-9001:2000 certificate from Germanischer Lloyd an international accreditation body. Now this is one of the few schools in our country to achieve this greatness.

Aims and objectives:

The main aim of the school is to provide full liberal and comprehensive education to develop the character and personality of the child. The objective is to produce young men and women with a keen scene of discipline, integrity and loyalty. The growth of the body, soul and mind at with careful psychological and moral schemes.

Curriculum:

The school follows the curriculum and syllabi of the Matriculation and Higher Secondary courses of Tamilnadu. The school prepares the pupils for the Matriculation and Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Tamilnadu Education Department.

An international system of learning is provided with special attention and care to develop multifarious skills keeping in mind the young neuro muscular co-ordination in the pre-primary children.

With a view to ensure the development of the many sided talents of children, we have providing facilities for various extra and co-curricular activities as based above.

Academic care:

All efforts are taken to ensure individual attention for children to attain good academic standard with remedial help to slow learners. The pupil securing I rank is awarded a special badge I each class. This has certainly infused into our children a spirit of healthy competition to strive harder towards higher academic goals. Proficiency Medals are awarded annually to top ranking pupils.

File System:

In order to encourage pupil’s to follow up what is taught in the school, a file system is introduced from Standard VI onwards. Pupils are expected to file all questions papers, answer papers, extra notes and other important correspondence relating to the school. Prizes will be awarded to the best file holder.

Physical Education:

Physical Education is compulsory for all the students. No pupil will be exempted from the physical exercise or games, unless specially permitted by the principal. Games uniform is compulsory for all the students.
Pupils intending to play Tennis are to register their names with the Physical Director and play as per the timetable drawn by him. Besides, they have to pay Rs. 550/- per annum.

Social Service League:

Our Social Service League members visit slums, hospital, orphanages & villages and help the poor and the needy.

Arts and Crafts:

Arts and Crafts classes find a place in the regular timetable and the children receive not only instruction in these subjects, but also a basic training in the appreciation of Arts.

Moral Instruction:

Moral Instruction is provided to all pupils. The school believes in the dictum, “Catch them young and teach them when they are young”. The Moral Instruction books written by experts in the field are followed. Broadmindedness, duty consciousness, civic responsibility and good manners are strongly established in the pupils by Moral Instruction.

School Publications:

The School Publishers the pupils dairy with full comprehensive details about the school and its activities.
The Annual School Magazine is published with the contribution of the teachers and the taught; it exhibits the talent of our pupils in expression and displays their arts and paintings.

Sanchayika Savings Scheme:

A penny saved is a penny gain. To inculcate the habit of saving for the morrow in the minds of our pupils, we are having the Sanchayika Savings Scheme in our school.

Medical Facilities:

First aid provided to the children in the school whenever the needs arises, medical inspection is conducted every year by three doctors.

House System, Scouts and Guide:

Our pupils of Std. IV to VIII will be enrolled in Scouts and Guides troops.
The pupils are divided into four Houses with monitors and perfects to supervise the general discipline of the children. Since most of the competitions are held on inter-house basis, House loyalty is strong. A regular record of student’s participations and achievement is maintained and points are awarded to each other house. In addition to this, Inter-House Sports Meet and Games Tournaments are conducted every year. Each house has its own motto, song and flag.
