Sattur

Sattur is 24 kms away from south of Virudunagar. The town of Sattur is said to be a corruption of Sathanur. This place was formerly a forest and there was Sathan temple in it. Sathan temple also known as Ayyanar Temple. It is an industrial town. There are match factories, nib factories, cotton ginning factories and many others. Wholesale business is transacted in chillies, blackgram and coriander.
